Erectile Dysfunction - Ayurvedic Treatment and Medication

Erectile Dysfunction - Ayurvedic Treatment and Medication
Erectile dysfunction, or ED, is a common sexual problem in men. It affects around 30 million men worldwide. Erectile dysfunction is the inability to get or maintain a firm erection for sexual activity. Men face many problems with erection from time to time, but if ED is progressive and frequently occurs during sexual intercourse, it is a matter of concern and should be treated.
Erectile Dysfunction can occur:
With stress or emotional disturbance
If the blood supply to the penis is hampered or nerves are harmed
Early warning signs of serious illness like atherosclerosis, blood pressure, and diabetes.
It is crucial to find the cause of your problem to be treated.
Erections happen during sexual arousal due to the release of chemicals from nerves that increase blood flow to the penis.
The spongy tissue in the penis relaxes and traps the blood. The blood pressure makes the penis stiff and firm. After orgasm, the erection comes down as the blood returns to average circulation.
When not sexually aroused, the penis is soft and limp.
The symptoms of ED are not being able to get or maintain an erection. It can become bothersome if it becomes a routine. It lowers your self-esteem, is distressing for you and your partner, and can cause depression.
People with ED are at significant risk of cardiovascular diseases like heart attack, atherosclerosis, or stroke.
Risk factors of erectile dysfunction include age over 50 years, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, drugs, alcohol, and a sedentary lifestyle.
Diagnosis of erectile dysfunction
Because there are many causes for dysfunction, there are numerous different tests your doctor might ask for to diagnose the condition and confirm its cause. Only when the reason for dysfunction is confirmed can it be effectively treated.
Before requesting any tests, your doctor will go through your previous medical records and conduct a thorough physical examination. The doctor also will interview you concerning your private and sexual history. Some of these questions may feel intrusive, but you need to answer them honestly. The questions might include:
What type of medications or drugs are you currently taking? This may include pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter medication, herbals, Ayurvedic supplements, and criminal medication.
If you had any psychological or mental health issues like stress, panic disorder, anxiety, and depression?
When was the first time you caught the symptoms of ED?
What are the quality, frequency, and duration of your erections in the past?
Under what circumstances does erectile dysfunction first happen? Was there any stress or unpleasant event?
Do/did you experience firm erections at night or during the morning hours?
Are there any specific sexual techniques that you use?
Are there experiencing some problems in your present relationship?
The healthcare provider might also wish to ask questions to your sexual partner since your partner could also help figure out the fundamental causes.
After your entire physical examination and discussion, you might be requested to go through the following subsequent tests to diagnose your ED status:
Complete blood count (CBC): This is often a collection of blood tests that will find the presence of anemia. Anemia may cause fatigue, which successively causes dysfunction.
Liver and excretory organs tests: These blood tests might indicate whether or not dysfunction could be because of your kidneys or liver functioning improperly.
Lipid profile: This biopsy measures the number of lipids (fats), like cholesterol. High levels might indicate arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), affecting blood circulation within the erectile organ.
The thyroid test: One of the functions of the thyroid hormone is to control the assembly of sex hormones, and a deficiency in these hormones might contribute to or cause dysfunction.
Blood internal secretion studies: Androgen and lactogenic hormone levels within the blood could also be measured to check abnormalities in either sex hormone.
Urinalysis: Urine analysis offers information on macromolecule, sugar, and androgen levels. Abnormal measurements of these substances could indicate polygenic disorder, uropathy, or an androgen deficiency.
Duplex ultrasound: This may be the most straightforward test to evaluate dysfunction. This test is performed when the penis is erect and when the erectile organ is soft. It evaluates blood flow and looks for signs of leak and atherosclerosis.
Bulbocavernosus reflex: This evaluates nerve sensation within the erectile organ. In this procedure, your doctor squeezes the top of your erectile organ, which ought to cause your opening to contract instantly. If nerve performance is abnormal, there'll be a latency delay.
Nocturnal penile tumidness (NPT): This looks at the measures of a man's erectile performance while sleeping. Typically, a person can have five or six erections while asleep. A scarcity of those erections might indicate a drag with nerve performance or circulation to the erectile organ.
Penile biothesiometry: It involves the utilization of magnetism vibration to check sensitivity and nerve performance.
Vasoactive injection: An erection is created by injecting some solutions that cause the dilation of blood vessels, permitting blood to flow in the erectile organ.
Arteriography: It is for men who are also applicants for vascular reconstruction surgical operations. A dye is administered into the artery assumed to be damaged, and X-rays are taken.
Cavernosography: This test requires shooting up a dye into the erectile organ. Then, the erectile organ is X-rayed to see the leak in the blood vessel.
Dynamic infusion cavernosometry: It is done for men who have a blood vessel leak. By estimating the rate at which fluid should be pumped up to achieve a firm erection, a medical expert can confirm the intensity of the leak of the blood vessel.
If you have any queries, you can ask your doctor without hesitation.
Treatment for erectile dysfunction
The therapy for ED starts with looking after your cardiovascular health. Your doctor may point out risk factors that can be altered to improve your condition.
Your healthcare provider will also suggest sorting out your emotional problems. These could arise from relationship problems, work, depression, or anxiety associated with previous problems with ED.
The doctor will ask you to change your food habits, stop smoking, increase workouts, or cease the use of some medications and alcohol. You may be offered substitutes for the drugs you take.
Available medicines for erectile dysfunction
The list of medications for ED includes:
Oral drugs or pills called phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitors, most often prescribed for ED
Penile Injections
Intraurethral medication
Testosterone Therapy
Vacuum Erection Devices
Penile Implants
Surgery
Oral drugs
Drugs called PDE type-5 inhibitors to escalate blood flow in the penis. These drugs are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of ED. A list of common oral drugs includes Viagra (sildenafil citrate), Levitra (vardenafil HCl), Cialis (tadalafil), and Stendra (avanafil).
You can take these drugs an hour or two before sexual activity for better results. For these drugs to work, nerve function in the penis should be normal. It also improves normal erectile responses. The response is usually lower in people with diabetes and cancer patients.
It sustains erection for 30-60 minutes.
If you take nitrates for heart disease, you should not take these medications.
Intracavernosal (ICI) and urethra (IU) therapies
If oral drugs don't work for you, another drug, Alprostadil, is approved in men with ED. It comes in two forms, based on how it is used: intracavernosal injection, ICI, or through the urethra, called IU therapy.
Self-injection therapy
Alprostadil is injected into the side of the penis with a fine needle.
ICI Alprostadil is FDA-approved for ED. Your medical expert will train you on how to inject, how much to inject, and how to raise the drug's dosage, if necessary, safely.
ICI therapy often produces a good erection, which comes down after 20-30 minutes or climax. A common side effect of ICI therapy is prolonged erection.
Men who have penile erections lasting longer than two to four hours should consult emergency care. Failure to undo priapism will lead to permanent penile damage and untreatable ED.
Intraurethral (IU) therapy
A small medicated pellet of the drug, Alprostadil, is placed in the urethra for IU therapy.
IU alprostadil's most common side effect is a burning sensation in the penis.
Testosterone therapy
In rare cases where men with low sex drive and low blood levels of testosterone are at fault for ED, testosterone therapy may fix normal erections or help when combined with ED drugs.
Vacuum erection device
A vacuum erection tool slips over the penis, making a seal with the body's skin. A pump at the other end of the tube makes a low-pressure vacuum around the erectile tissue, which results in an erection.
Surgical treatment
The primary surgical treatment of ED involves the insertion of a penile implant. Penile implants are devices that are kept entirely inside your body. They make a stiff penis that lets you have regular sex.
There are two types of penile implants.
Semi-rigid implant (bendable)
Inflatable implant
With the implant, men can control firmness and, sometimes, the size of the erection.
There are also medications by GudHealthy available to help with ED.
It helps overcome stress, fatigue, and anxiety.
Cost of erectile dysfunction medicines
The cost of treating ED varies, depending on the kind of treatment one seeks. It generally ranges from INR 25,000 to 40,000 and even more in some cases.
How to choose appropriate medicine for erectile dysfunction
It is a valid concern to choose the best medicine for managing ED. You want an effective and reliable solution to your problem. While allopathic medicines like viagra claim to show instant results, they also have side effects. Therefore, it is not suitable for the long term.
Most allopathic medicines subside your symptoms but do not cure the disease of its root cause.
On the contrary, Ayurvedic medicines are 100% natural and organic without side effects. These medications cure the disease at its root and provide a long-term solution.
The total effect of Ayurvedic medicines is seen after using them for over 3–6 months.
Take the correct dose of these Ayurvedic pills and make them a part of your daily routine to see how effectively they work.
Ayurvedic medicines are less expensive and affordable than allopathic drugs.
Ayurveda focuses on an individual line of treatment. It believes that every person is different and needs different treatment as per their symptoms and health.
Therefore, Ayurvedic medications offer a better, more substantial treatment for diseases.
It focuses on your overall well-being.
Buying erectile dysfunction medicines online
Today, there are many drugs available online for almost every disease. You cannot just take any medication for problems like ED.
Follow specific rules, such as:
When buying medicines online, always remember to buy from a good brand.
It must be approved by the FDA or an authorized board like FSSAI.
It should label all its ingredients, so the customer knows what they are consuming.
It must be affordable for the masses.
It is better to choose natural and organic products with no side effects.
All the above criteria are fulfilled by GudHealthy products for the treatment of ED. They have shown promising effects and improved the lives of many people.
Ayurvedic medicine for weight loss
Deepak Verma.Jun 24, 2024
Are Ayurvedic medicines helpful in weight loss?
Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest healing systems. It was developed more than 5,000 years ago in India. Ayurvedic medicine believes that the health and wellness of our body depend on the overall balance between body, mind, and soul. When something disrupts this balance, we get sick.
We are what we eat and reflect our environment and personal choices in our health.
Every person has a different metabolism. Some people may easily digest some food items while others may not. One person may consume a huge meal and gain no weight, while another must carefully count the calories not to gain weight. This depends on your fat metabolism.
Obesity is a challenging health concern today. It means the accumulation of excessive amounts of fat in your body. It is crucial to understand that it is not only a cosmetic concern but a more profound health concern that can negatively impact your daily life.
You may become obese depending on your eating habits, physical activity, and unique body composition.
The world of Ayurveda offers several practices to help you lose weight. Some Ayurvedic herbs have shown promising results and are effective for weight loss.
You can also consume an Ayurvedic diet and Ayurvedic medicines with no side effects to help you shed some weight. You should eat according to your own combination of dosha to have appropriate weight.
What are Doshas?
As per Ayurvedic sciences, it is believed that every matter in this universe is made up of five elements - fire, earth, water, air, and ether (space).
It is also believed that there are three doshas, namely Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, composed of these five elements.
These doshas are present in every cell, tissue, and organ of your body. They govern almost all your body processes, from bodily functions to thoughts and emotions.
We, humans, are a unique combination of three doshas. Most people tend to have a dominant dosha, though some amount of each dosha is present in everyone.
This combination is determined at the time of conception.
Each of the three doshas fluctuates according to your environment, diet, and several other factors, as you move through life. Any imbalance in your dosha can affect your mental, physical, and emotional health.
Vata dosha
It is made up of wind and ether elements. It is responsible for the movement of your body, circulation of blood, elimination of waste, expression of speech, and regulation of the immune system.
Pitta dosha
It constitutes fire and water elements. It balances the other two opposing doshas, Vata and Kapha. It is primarily responsible for hormone levels in your body, visual perception, thirst, controls your heartbeat, body temperature, and skin quality.
Kapha Dosha
It comprises mainly water and earth elements. It moistens the stable structures of your body. It primarily resides in your stomach. It also manages your chest, throat, head, lymph, and pancreas.
It provides stability to your body by holding the cells together and forming muscles, fats, and bones.
How can Dosha impact your body weight?
Your dosha impacts almost all the body functions and tends to determine your body weight. You should consume food as per your dosha to nourish your body and promote balance. You can also avoid certain food items that may indicate imbalance and cause weight loss or weight gain.
If you have dominant Vata dosha, you tend to have low body weight. Your physical structure is thin and slender. You often suffer from dry skin, cold limbs, and poor blood circulation.
If your Vata dosha is balanced, you have a consistent appetite, healthy bowel function, and a calm mind. But if it is out of balance, you may lose weight, feel dehydrated, have excessive bloating, have indigestion, and have insomnia.
If you have dominant Pitta dosha, you are more likely to have moderate weight and healthy digestion. If your dosha is in balance, you experience a healthy appetite and the proper production of hormones. When Kapha dosha is out of balance, you may feel like skipping meals, heartburn, fever, and rashes.
People with dominant Kapha dosha tend to have heavier bodies with broad shoulders and hips. They mostly have a stable appetite and regular digestion. If balanced, it provides physical and mental strength, but it causes sluggish digestion when in excess.
Eat as per your dosha
Your diet plays a vital role in every dosha. Some recommended foods, exercises, and routine practices are suitable for every dosha to achieve balance. Diet as per your dosha helps in achieving optimal health and adequate weight.
The recommended diet for Vata dominant people
Vata is cold and dry dosha. Warm foods with moderately heavy textures are suitable for such people. If your Vata is dominant, you should add butter, warm milk, cream, warm soups, stews, hot cereals, and raw nuts to your diet.
Herbal tea, warm drinks, or hot water are suitable for Vata. All sweet fruits are great for Vata-dominant people.
You should avoid salads, raw vegetables, caffeine, and iced drinks as they cause Vata imbalance. Avoid unripe fruits and candies too.
Spices like cumin, garlic, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and cloves can be consumed.
Best cooked vegetables to consume are carrots, onions, sweet potatoes, turnips, radish, green beans, cucumber, cabbage, mushrooms, peas, eggplant, cauliflower, sprouts, potatoes, green vegetables, and tomatoes.
All well-ripened fruits like banana, apricot, berries, coconut, fresh figs, grapefruit, lemons, grapes, mangoes, sweet melons, papaya, oranges, peaches, plums, cherries, and stewed fruits are best to consume.
Fruits to take in moderation are pears, cranberries, and pomegranates. Avoid all the unripe and dried fruits.
Grains to consume are cooked oats and cooked rice. In moderation, take wheat, corn, dry oat, millet, barley, and buckwheat.
All dairy items can be added to the diet. Meat to take in diet are chicken, turkey, and seafood, though eat red meat in moderation.
All sweeteners, nuts, and seeds are acceptable. Almonds are best to consume. Avoid bitter and astringent herbs and spices like parsley, thyme, coriander seeds, and fenugreek. Use saffron and turmeric in moderation.
The recommended diet for Pitta dominant people
Pitta is mainly the fire component. They have better appetite and digestion. They can withstand cold food items. Because they have efficient and robust digestion, they can generally consume anything.
Though, Pitta dominant people experience problems with continued use of too much salt, overeating, and overuse of sour and spicy food.
People with Pitta dosha can eat warm or cold foods with moderately heavy textures. They can consume bitter, astringent, and sweet food items. They should eat a good amount of milk, vegetables, and grains.
Vegetarian foods, in general, are suitable for Pittas. Eating red meat generates heat in the body from the fat. They can also consume extraordinary, refreshing food in hot weather like salads, ice creams, and milk. Herbal tea is soothing to Pittas.
Pittas should consume less fatty foods like cheese and creams. They should also avoid sour items like pickles vinegar in the salad; instead, lemon can be used. They should skip alcoholic and fermented drinks. Avoid eating oily, heavy, salty, and fried foods.
Suitable vegetables for Pittas are mushrooms, okra, peas, lettuce, green leafy vegetables, green beans, carrots, spinach, sweet potatoes, parsley, cucumber, asparagus, broccoli, and sprouts. Eat vegetables like eggplant, onion, tomatoes, chilies, beets, and hot peppers in moderation.
The best fruits to consume are bananas, figs, melons, oranges, plums, prunes, pears, mangoes, coconut, cherries, raisins, and avocado. In moderation, the fruits to eat are apricots, apples, dark grapes, berries, grapefruit, peaches, and raw papaya.
Avoid eating green grapes, pineapples, and oranges unless they are sweet and ripe.
Grains favorable to consumption are wheat, white rice, oats, and barley. Grains to consume in moderation are millet, rye, brown rice, and corn.
The best dairy products to take are egg whites, ghee, sweet fruit sorbets, milk, and butter. In moderation, take cheese, sour yogurt, egg yolk, sour cream, and sour buttermilk.
Suitable meat items for Pittas are chicken, shrimp, turkey, and river fish.
Avoid eating red meat and seafood in general.
Olive, soy, grapeseed, and sunflower oil are the best oils to consume.
Eat seeds like pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, coconut, and flaxseeds.
All sweeteners except honey can be consumed. Also, all spices should be consumed in small amounts as they are too heating.
The recommended diet for Kapha dominant people
People with Kapha dosha tend to have heavier, bulkier bodies than others. They tend to store watery substances like fluids and fats more readily and easily. Kaphas do best with lightly cooked food, raw fruits, and vegetables. Dry cooking methods like broiling, grilling, baking, and soldering are preferable for Kaphas over moist cooking techniques like steaming, boiling, or poaching.
Warm, light, and dry food is favorable for Kapha dominant people. Any spicy food is suitable for Kapha dosha people.
Kaphas need to be careful when consuming too many sweet, fatty, and salty foods as it can cause fluid retention. They should also avoid deep-fried foods.
Kaphas tend to overeat. Therefore, they should eat their main meal in the middle of the day.
The vegetable ideal for Kaphas is cauliflower, eggplant, garlic, green leafy vegetables, lettuce, mushrooms, okra, onions, peas, peppers, potatoes, radishes, spinach, cabbage, celery, and sprouts. Vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet potatoes should be consumed in moderation.
Fruits like papaya, pears, apples, apricots, berries, grapefruit, cranberries, pomegranate, cherries, and prunes. Especially dried foods like figs, apricots, and raisins are good for Kaphas.
In moderation, fruits to eat are bananas, coconuts, fresh figs, dates, and mangoes.
Grains that are favorable are buckwheat, corn, millet, oats, rye, barley, and rice. Kapha people should avoid hot cereals and steamed grains. Wheat to be consumed in moderation.
The dairy products like warm skim milk, whole milk in small quantities, egg whites, soy milk, camel milk, and goat’s milk can be consumed. Avoid eating egg yolks if you are Kapha dominant,
Kaphas should avoid shrimp and red meat. Chicken, lean fish, and turkey can be added to the diet.
Eat sweets in minimal quantities. Seeds like pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and flax seeds are good for Kaphas.
Spices like cumin, sesame, ginger, and fenugreek are suitable for the digestion of Kapha dominant people.
Is Ayurvedic treatment beneficial for weight loss?
Ayurvedic medicine believes that the root cause of most problems is indigestion. According to Ayurveda, obesity begins with an imbalance in doshas and Agni (digestive fire) and blocked minute circulatory channels because of poor lifestyle and diet choices. This leads to the accumulation of toxins and faulty metabolism that affects adipose tissue.
Ayurvedic treatment, therefore, helps reduce the toxins from your body, helps strengthen the digestive system, and helps the proper formation of adipose tissue. There is no complete reliance on one method, but different methods help you in weight management. Some of the approaches recommended by Ayurveda are:
One should drink hot water early in the morning and before meals to help improve digestion.
Eat as per your dosha as mentioned above. Your diet should ensure the body gets the nutrients needed, and it should help in the smooth functioning of the digestive system.
Ama Pachana or the flushing of toxins from the body can be helped by taking Ayurvedic herbs like Guggulu, Triphala, and Trikatu.
Ayurvedic herbal supplements help improve metabolism and help in weight loss.
Good sleep is essential for helping to ensure body metabolism works in the right way.
Ayurveda focuses on various yogasanas to help in weight loss.
Panchakarma treatment for weight loss is a popular therapy that helps in weight management.
Panchakarma involves the use of therapies like:
Swedana or sweating to help release toxins from your body.
Basti or enema is used to help release toxins from your body.
Are ayurvedic medicines safe and reliable?
The techniques and methods of Ayurvedic medicine have been in use for a long time. An Ayurvedic diet is balanced and rich in vitamins and minerals, vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and healthy proteins.
Ayurvedic diets emphasize eating in moderate quantities and eating mindfully. In addition, an Ayurvedic approach to healing and health focuses on prevention, physical activity, stress reduction, and overall balanced living. All these principles and practices are safe and healthy.

Ayurvedic Medicine for Premature ejaculation - Medicine, Treatment, Home Remedies
Deepak Verma.Jun 19, 2024
Premature ejaculation is a common sexual issue in men. It is estimated that at least 1 in 3 men experience this problem.
Premature ejaculation is considered a type of sexual dysfunction. Sexual dysfunction means any problem that keeps a couple away from enjoyable sexual activity.
Ejaculation is defined as the release of semen from the body. Premature ejaculation occurs when a man ejaculates semen early during sexual intercourse than his partner would like.
Premature ejaculation is also called rapid ejaculation, early ejaculation, or premature climax. It is not a reason to worry, but it can be frustrating for the person. It can impact your relationship and make your sexual experience less pleasurable.
What is premature ejaculation?
Premature ejaculation is the recurrent or persistent pattern of ejaculation during sexual activity within 1 minute of penetration and before the individual wishes it.
The person has no control over it.It is considered an infertility problem if it occurs before vaginal penetration. It is classified as primary or secondary premature ejaculation. Primary premature ejaculation is characterized by onset from the first sexual experience, while secondary is a gradual or sudden onset following a typical ejaculation pattern before the onset. Ejaculation is a sympathetic process of your body. Premature ejaculation usually occurs in anxiety and stress. Sometimes premature ejaculation is associated with erectile dysfunction, in which men cannot attain a full erection.
Causes and risk factors of premature ejaculation
There is no definite cause of premature ejaculation. It is regarded as a neurogenic problem. It involves a complex interaction of psychological and biological factors.
Psychological causes that might play a role in premature ejaculation are:
Early sexual experience
Sexual abuse
Depression or stress
Poor body image or lack of confidence
Guilty feelings
Anxiety
Problems in your relationship
Concern over the sexual performance
Negative feelings regarding sex or sexual repression
Several biological factors also contribute to premature ejaculation, such as:
Abnormal hormone levels
Abnormal levels of neurotransmitters like serotonin
Urologic conditions like urethritis, prostatitis, benign prostatic hypertrophy
Neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis, alcoholic neuropathy, spinal cord tumors, and polyneuritis
Inherited genes
It can happen at any age. Though, changes in erection and ejaculation do occur with age. Erection in older men is not as firm, and even ejaculation happens earlier.
Erectile dysfunction is a significant risk factor of premature ejaculation.
Diagnosis of premature ejaculation
It is typical for men to feel at least some control over ejaculation during patterned sexual intercourse. If you feel so, you should consult a medical expert. Premature ejaculation may be present.
If premature ejaculation gets in the way of your sexual experience, it’s time to seek medical help. The diagnosis is based on whether you ejaculate early, late, or not. Your doctor will conduct a physical examination. They will talk to you about your sex life and relationship with your partner. You might be asked to run through some blood tests to check your testosterone levels.
The doctor might ask you questions like:
How long have you had this?
How often does it happen?
Does it happen at every attempt?
When did you first experience it?
How is your interpersonal relationship?
Is there anything like drugs or alcohol that makes premature ejaculation better or worse?
Do you use any recreational drugs?
Are you on any medication?
How much premature ejaculation bothers you?
Are you having problems maintaining an erection?
In some cases, your doctor might ask you to go to a urologist or mental health counselor.
Treatments for premature ejaculation
Standard treatment options for premature ejaculation include behavioral techniques, topical anesthetics, medications, and counseling. You should keep in mind that it might take time to find the proper treatment or combination of treatments for you. Behavioral treatment and drug therapy might be the most effective treatment.
Behavioral techniques
Behavioral therapies are adopted for the treatment of premature ejaculation. It can be a simple step like masturbating an hour or two before intercourse so that you can delay ejaculation during intercourse.
Your doctor also may recommend avoiding intercourse for some time and focusing on other types of sexual activity so that pressure is removed from your sexual encounters.
Pelvic floor exercises
Weak pelvic floor muscles can impair your ability to delay ejaculation. Pelvic floor exercises, also called Kegel exercises, can help strengthen your pelvic muscles.
To perform these exercises:
Find the right muscles.
Your pelvic floor muscles can be identified. Stop peeing in midstream or tighten your muscles to prevent passing gas. This uses your pelvic floor muscles.
Master your technique.
Tight your pelvic floor muscles, hold the contraction for three seconds and then relax. Repeat it a few times. When your muscles get stronger, you can try to perform these exercises in any position.
Maintain the focus.
Focus on contracting your pelvic floor muscles for the best results. You need to be careful not to flex your muscles of the abdomen, thighs, or buttocks. Don’t hold your breath and breathe freely during these exercises.
Repeat three times a day.
It is better to try them for at least three repetitions a day.
The pause-squeeze technique
Your doctor may instruct you and your partner on the pause-squeeze technique. This method works as follows:
Start sexual activity as usual, including stimulating the penis until you feel almost ready to ejaculate.
Your partner can squeeze the glans of your penis, where the head joins the shaft and maintain the squeeze for several seconds until your urge to ejaculate passes.
Your partner can repeat the squeeze process as required.
This helps you in delaying the ejaculation. After some practice sessions, you will be habitual in delaying the ejaculation, and you won’t require the pause-squeeze technique.
Start-stop technique
If the above-mentioned pause-squeeze technique causes pain or discomfort, another technique is to stop your sexual stimulation just before ejaculation, talk about something else with your partner, wait until the level of arousal diminishes, and begin again. This technique is known as the stop-start technique.
Condoms
Condoms can decrease your penis sensitivity, which can help in delaying ejaculation. "Climax control" condoms are available in the market over the counter. These condoms contain anesthetic agents such as benzocaine or lidocaine or are made of thicker latex to delay your ejaculation.
Medications
Topical anesthetics
There are several anesthetic creams and sprays that contain a numbing agent, like benzocaine, lidocaine, or prilocaine, which are sometimes used to treat premature ejaculation. These can be applied to the penis 10 to 15 minutes before sex to reduce sensation and help delay ejaculation.
A lidocaine-prilocaine cream for premature ejaculation (EMLA) and lidocaine sprays for premature ejaculation are available by prescription and over-the-counter.
Albeit topical anesthetic agents are effective and well-tolerated, they have potential side effects like, some men complain of temporary loss of sensitivity and decreased sexual pleasure. Sometimes, female partners also have similar problems.
Oral medications
Many medications are used to delay orgasm. But none of these drugs are specifically approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat premature ejaculation. These medications include antidepressants, analgesics, and phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors. These medications are prescribed for either on-demand or daily use, alone, or with other treatments.
Antidepressants
A side effect of some antidepressants is delayed orgasm. For this reason, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as escitalopram (Lexapro), sertraline (Zoloft), paroxetine (Paxil), or fluoxetine (Prozac, Sarafem) are used in the treatment of premature ejaculation. It takes five to ten days for these medications to work. But it reaches its full effect after two to three weeks of treatment.
If SSRIs don't improve your premature ejaculation, your doctor might prescribe the tricyclic antidepressant clomipramine (Anafranil). It has other unwanted side effects such as nausea, perspiration, drowsiness, and decreased libido.
Analgesics
Tramadol is a medication used to treat pain. It also has side effects that delay ejaculation. Its unwanted side effects might include nausea, headache, sleepiness, and dizziness.Tramadol is not used in combination with an SSRI
Phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors.
Some medications used to treat erectile dysfunction, such as sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis, Adcirca), or vardenafil (Levitra, Staxyn), also might help premature ejaculation. The potential unwanted side effects include headache, facial flushing, and indigestion. These medications might be more effective when used in combination with an SSRI.
Potential future management
Research suggests several drugs that might help treat premature ejaculation, but more research needs to be done. These drugs include:
Dapoxetine. This is also an SSRI often used as the first treatment for premature ejaculation. Some countries use this drug.
Modafinil (Provigil). This is used as a treatment for the sleeping disorder narcolepsy.

How Ayurvedic Products are useful for hair loss and hair regrowth
Deepak Verma.Jun 15, 2024
Do you feel that there are more hairs on the floor or your hand every time you comb your hair than your head? If yes, don't be worried.
Hair loss is a very prevalent issue. It can be distressing and impact your overall health. The average loss of almost a hundred hair strands per day is average. The problem arises with more hair loss or no compensatory hair regrowth.
There are so many chemical-laden products in the market which claim to prevent hair loss. But you should be aware of their chemical nature and try not to use them for hair fall. So, what is the best way for hair care?
Well, you can rely on Ayurveda to fight against hair loss. The world’s oldest medical system, Ayurveda, offers many healing remedies to control your hair fall.
As per Ayurveda, the whole domain comprises five elements - fire, water, air, earth, and ether and the three doshas - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. The balance between these elements and dosha ensures overall well-being.
The Vata dosha is related to air that chiefly governs our nervous system, pitta dosha relates to fire and is responsible for metabolism and digestion, and the Kapha is related to water that lubricates your joints, boosts immunity and protects your body’s tissue.
The imbalance of any of these doshas may lead to various ailments. As per experts, hair loss is attributed to the exacerbation of pitta dosha. People with pitta dosha imbalance have an erratic pulse.
It is essential to know your Prakriti dosha to come up with a remedy.
If you have an imbalance in Vata dosha symptoms, your hair is prone to become excessively dry, frizzy, split ends, and brittle. Vata hair is usually dry and brittle.
If you have an imbalance in Pitta dosha symptoms, you have more chances of receding hairlines and a thinning texture in your hair. The heat in your scalp leads to color changes. For instance, your hair might turn into a brownish tinge if it is not ordinarily brown. This can cause graying of hair and balding. Normal pitta hair is thin, and color change can develop.
If you display an imbalance in Kapha dosha symptoms, you can have oily and sticky hair. This can lead to blocks in your scalp's hair follicles and cause hair fall. Normal Kapha hair is thick.
In every case, you need to detoxify yourself.
